WATCH: Victor Cruz is Killing It in the Gym As He Recovers From a Major Calf Injury

Victor Cruz looks ready to resume his career as a much-feared wide receiver for the New York Giants.

Victor Cruz

We didn't get to see Victor Cruz suit up for a single game last season, which is a shame. Not only does Cruz have one of the best NFL stories—an undrafted receiver out of UMass who turned himself into one of the most feared wideouts in the game—but his salsa touchdown dance had become iconic in New York. A lingering calf injury forced Cruz to sit out the 2016 season, and many observers wondered whether the 29-year-old would recapture his power and explosiveness post-injury.

Judging from a recent Instagram post, Cruz's calf looks fully healed—and then some. From Box Jumps to One-Leg Weighted Squats to Overhead Squats, Cruz appears able to complete an intense lower-body workout with no complications.

During the off-season, Cruz reworked his contract to stay with the Giants, taking a pay cut from the $8 million he was owed for 2016 to a base salary of $1.3 million, with performance incentives that allow him to gain back that lost money.

Cruz looks on track to appear opposite Odell Beckham Jr. when the 2016 NFL season begins.
